This is our locally-owned, community bookstore, which is about to celebrate its 40th anniversary (check out the celebrations planned at www.BookBinNorthbrook.com. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and the shop itself is accessible. It's not a big place, but there's room to use a wheelchair or walker through the stacks.
The Book Bin actively supports lots of good causes in the community, and hosts book discussion groups. They can easily order books they don't have in stock; they offer free gift-wrapping, and are just the kind of independently-owned bookstore that many communities are sad to have lost in recent years.
